Colin Coffey - Chief Engineer & Producer
Colin was trained at two of the world's top schools for the recording arts: Full Sail and The Recording Workshop. In addition to his audio background, he received his B.A. in Public Relations and Business from Capital University, where he also studied music. Colin's production credits are numerous, including Grammy Award winners and national acts like Slash (Guns and Roses), Halestorm, Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge), Big & Rich, and the Black Eyed Peas. He has worked on projects with top industry legends such as Chris Lord-Alge, Greg Wells, Ted Jensen, Howard Benson, and many more! Colin has written and recorded songs that have been featured on national television shows, as well as mixing sound for feature films. He regularly lectures on recording and mixing techniques at multiple universities and has served as a professor of Recording Arts and Music Technology at Capital University. Colin is an expert across multiple genres and continues to attract clientele to the Midwest due to his impressive portfolio.
Joey Pasternak - Staff Engineer
Joey is an active engineer in multiple capacities throughout Columbus’ music scene. A graduate of Capital University's Music Technology program and the Recording Workshop and former JSR Intern, Joey’s experience includes everything from classical ensembles and jazz combos to hard-rock bands and hip-hop artists. In addition to his studio projects, he also provides live sound at venues throughout Columbus and is readily available for on-site, mobile recording sessions.
Diego Villasmil - Studio Manager
Diego is a veteran of the Columbus music scene, but the influences of his Venezuelan origin have kept him engaged in international musical collaborations. In addition to his musical inclination, Diego holds degrees in International Studies and Economics from The Ohio State University. Diego pairs his musical foundation (including plenty of time in recording studios) with his extensive project management expertise and is often the first point of contact for all JSR clients, offering a first-hand account of the process and what to expect.
